Mackey Advisory Limited (“Mackey Advisory,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates this website at mackeyadvisory.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Notice describes the limited personal data we process through the Site, the legal bases on which we rely, and the rights available to visitors in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area.

Mackey Advisory Limited acts as data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Information shared with us through a signed engagement letter or in the course of an advisory engagement is governed by the terms of that engagement and is not the subject of this notice.

1. Personal Data We Process

We have built the Site to collect as little personal data as practical.

Information you provide directly. If you contact us by email, we receive the contents of your message and your email address.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, records standard server log information necessary to deliver the Site. This typically includes your IP address, browser type and version, the page requested, the referring page, and the time of the request.

Browser storage. The Site stores a single value in your browser’s local storage to remember whether you have accepted or rejected our cookie notice. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking technologies.

We do not collect government identification numbers, payment information, financial account information, or special categories of personal data through the Site.

2. Lawful Bases for Processing

We process personal data on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR:

• Legitimate interests: to respond to inquiries you send, to operate and secure the Site, and to maintain Site logs for security purposes. We have assessed that these uses do not override your rights and freedoms.
• Consent: for the storage of your cookie-consent preference, where required by applicable law.
• Legal obligation: where we must process data to comply with the law or respond to a lawful request.

3. How We Use Personal Data

We use the limited personal data described above to:

• Respond to inquiries you send to us;
• Operate, maintain, and secure the Site;
• Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not engage in behavioural advertising or share personal data with marketing partners.

4. Service Providers and Recipients

The Site relies on a small number of service providers to function:

• Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery, DNS, and security. Processes IP addresses and request metadata as a processor on our behalf.
• Google Fonts: loads the Inter typeface used across the Site. Google may receive standard request information when the font is fetched.
• Font Awesome (cdnjs): loads icon fonts used in the menu and Services section.

We have no other third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising integrations on the Site. When you click an outbound link to LinkedIn, Substack, X, or any other external service, you leave the Site and the destination’s privacy practices apply.

5. International Transfers

The Site is operated from the United States and our service providers may process personal data in the United States and other jurisdictions outside the UK and EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards under UK and EU data protection law, including the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, where applicable.

6. Cookies and Browser Storage

The Site uses one item of browser local storage:

• cookieConsent: stores whether you have accepted or rejected the cookie notice. Contains no personal data.

The Site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. You can clear the cookie-consent value at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for mackeyadvisory.com.

7. Data Retention

We retain inquiry emails for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to and follow up on your message, after which we archive or delete them in accordance with our internal retention practices. Cloudflare server logs are retained according to Cloudflare’s policies.

8. Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data, subject to applicable conditions and exceptions:

• Access: to obtain a copy of your personal data;
• Rectification: to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Erasure: to request deletion of your data in certain circumstances;
• Restriction: to limit our processing in certain circumstances;
• Portability: to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
• Objection: to object to processing based on legitimate interests;
• Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
